Old Man

Ugarte created this little poem about the old gnome man in the Underground Realm in King’s Quest 8.

KING’S QUEST 8’S
“OLD MAN”

Connor traversed the tunnels
That twist and turn
All over the Gnome realm
Until he found a bridge.

He crossed the narrow bridge
And noticed marble everywhere
What was this place, he thought
As he continued on.

Connor entered a dark room
With an old man at a fire
Looking sad and depressed
While holding a wooden stick.

He asked the man what’s wrong.
The man said everything.
There was no light
And there was no hope.

The old man asked Connor
A personal favor about it.
He asked him to get the light
And restore faith to the world.

I will, said Connor.
He left and crossed the bridge
Determined to find it
And bring happiness to the man.
